We are a female owned & operated, micro flower farm, tucked into the rural north-east corner of California

After asking for dahlia tubers for Christmas one year, and falling in love with their intricate blooms, food and flowers have gained equal space in any and every gardening space that I (Andrea) have had the chance to grow in. From 8 varieties of dahlias to now over 90, you could say things have escalated since then!

High Desert Flower Co. was founded in 2020, after a move back to the high sage brush deserts of the Great Basin, to a town named Susanville. With climate change, supply chain, and economic issues, we felt the need to bring locally grown blooms to the corner of the state that is more well known for it’s cattle and sheep production. What began as 200 square ft. of flowers in a friend’s back yard, is now roughly 1/4 acre bursting at the seems interplanted between fruit trees and grape vines.

High Desert Flower Co. chooses to grow blooms using regenerative, no-till practices, keeping our soil health in tact, and composting anything and everything we can onsite.

We want to bring you the freshest, longest-lasting, and unique flowers that you won’t find at your chain grocery stores, and that haven’t been sprayed with toxic chemicals. Most of all, we want to expand on what it means to buy local ‘Grown, not flown” flowers and the lesser environmental impact that shopping local can have on our environment as a whole.
